Show MORE TROUBLE AT SALT PALACE THEATER Ono of tho Actors Disagrees With Francis Heath Over Matter of Salary, ARGUMENTS and recriminations between Francis Heath, tho manager man-ager of the Salt Palace, and 3omc of the actors at the . theater, ended in a quarrel Wednesday night which will, according to the statement state-ment of Mr. Clark, who ia one of the performers at tho theater, result in the reEort being banned by the profession. "The real trouble arose through Francis Fran-cis Heath refusing to pay me .a port of the salary that was due me last rtlght," eald Mr. Clark. "None of us got all of our salaries for last week until Tuesday Tues-day ovenlng, whereas we were supposed to be paid on Sunday. Yesterday we wero Informed that the management of the theater was going to bo transferred. Besides- Francis Heath told us that we would get no salary unless the receipts Justified it. What do you think of yuch a foolish proposition ns that? "All the turns that have been engaged for next week by my partner, Mr. Athon, havo been notified, nnd they will one nnd all cancel their engagements. We have cancelled ours after the end of this week. "The reason I demanded part of my salary last night, which I had a perfect right to do, was that I mistrusted the manager. He refused to let me hayo any. His brother, the policeman, tried to tako advantage of his star, and threatened to put me out. This I was waiting for him to do, but he thought better of his threat. I was qulto ready for a fight, and said things which any man would have reesnted. As this occurred oc-curred at a late hour, Mr. Heath could not be found, so his side of the question has not been ascertained. |
