Show ' Victim of Cholera, Much regret was expressed at the post yesterday when a letter from the Philippines was received and posted bearing the intelligence that "Circus," at one. time the well-Known and jolly soldier of company A of the Twelfth Infantry, at Fort Douglas, had fallen a victim to Asiatic cholera and died within the short period of ten minutes. The letter came from Camp Jossman, on Cnlmaras Island, the present station sta-tion of the Twelfth, which also stated that a number of deaths had occurred among the ranks, the medical officers experiencing much difficulty in preventing pre-venting its further spreaU among the troops, notwithstanding the strict quarantine quar-antine which has been ordered. |
