Samuelson, the "Pride of Provo," added another leaf to his crown of laurel at the saucer track Friday, when ho captured first place In the two-mllo event after ono of tho gamest sprints evor witnessed wit-nessed on the local track. Theso riders seemed to have first and second places without a struggle, so great was their lead. A moment before tho bell sounded for the final sprint a rider shot out from the rear bunch and started In pursuit of tho leadens. It looked Hko folly for one man to attempt to overtake tho two riders, who wero fifty yards ahead with only threo laps to go. Spectators Cheer. Thc spectators smiled, but cheered tho plucky youth, who rode like a demon. Before one lap had been ridden "Sam" ha,d cut tho distance between himself and the leaders nearly In half.
