PfelfCer. who arrived In Salt Lake at an early hour yesterday morning. Mrs. Pfeiffer left St. Louis about a week ago ln company with her husband, a railroad man. bound for this city to secure se-cure employment. They were acconipuliii'd by their three children, 'a boy and girl 1 and J vcars old and an infant. On the way Ihi: babe was taken 111 and tho entire famllv stopped, rst In Kansas City and again at Colorado Spring, to secure medical medi-cal treatment for the little one. Finally, on nceount of hla funds running low, Mr. Pfeiffer left the wife and chlldron at Colorado Colo-rado Springs to continue alone thc Journey Jour-ney to thla city ln the hope of finding vork. The child did not improve, but after a few days the mother, finding herself her-self at ihf end of her resources, started for this nlace before having heard fiom her husband. She reached the city at 1 o'clock yesterday morning with Just 10 cents ln her pocketbook, no one to meet her and thc babe in a dying condition. The case wils taken ln charge yesterday by Justice of the Peace Frank II Clurk. who arranged for tho burlnl of the remains re-mains of the child and provided temporary relief for tho- mother and hnr two other children. It Is not known yet whether the hiiHbund and father Is here or whether he may have gone to some othor town to sci.'k employment, but it la hoped that ho will bo found In a few days. Mrx.
