Dispatches setting forth tho situation situ-ation at St. Louis were shown to Judge Parker, but ho refused to make tho slightest slight-est comment on them. At almost tho same hour the steam yacht Sapphire anchored In front of Rose-mont Rose-mont and John B. McDonald and Judge E. P Hatch of New York were landed. They climbed tho hill to Roseinont. and whllo Judge Hatch chatted with Mrs. Parker, Mr. McDonald held a Ions conversation with Judgo Parker. What might bo his errand could not bo learned, but It Is certain cer-tain that tho yacht left New York early this afternoon and made (iulck time up the river, delayed only by stops at one or two points whero telcphono communication communi-cation was possible. All Esopus and vicinity turned ou tonight to-night to do honor to Judge Parker, and In special recognition of his nomination, In which all citizens of the community, regardless re-gardless of politics, take great pride. The village was gaily attired In Its best, and was Illuminated with lanterns, Hags, bunting, bunt-ing, torches and red' lire A procession was formed in the Main street and marched down to Rosemortt where speeches wero made by two of the Judge's neighbors. |
