Show PARKER'S MOTHER HAPPY. She Had Hoped for the Nomination of Her Son at St. Louis. DERBY, Conn., July 9. The news of Judge Parker's nomination was brought to Mrs. Parker, mother of tho Democratic nominee, today by a representative repre-sentative of tho Associated Press. Tears came to her eyes and for a moment mo-ment she could not speak. She sold: "I had hoped, If his nomination would be the best thing for the party, that he would be nominated, and now," she said, "If his election will be tho best thing for the country I sincerely hope that ho will be elected." She said that Judge Parker was a personal friend of President Roosevelt, nnd within a year or two had made him a visit at his Oyster Bay home. Mrs. Parker Is SO years of age and lives near her daughter, Mrs. Hall. |
