The olcc- ,i trie storm here night before last did n great deal of damage to the telephone and electric light wires, especially tho former. Manager Petit nnd his crew have' been kept busy for the past two day replacing burnt-out collu and generally gen-erally repairing the lines. A great deal of lntcrost Is taken In tho school election which will take place hero noxt Monday. A trustee for three years to succeed L. 13. Hubbard, present chairman of tho Board, is to be elected. Mr. Hubbard la a candldatc-or candldatc-or re-election and AV. D. Watson la ulro a candidate for the position. Tho place- of voting will he at tho Washington Washing-ton school and the polls will ho open from 1 o'clock until 6 o'clock p. m. George IJodson. tho new pitcher for the Park City baseball team, arrived from St. Joseph, Mo., this morning. Mr. Uodson 1b said to be a first-class man, having pitched for some of the best teams In Iowa and Missouri, and his connection with the Park team, It Is belloved, will strengthen It materially. Lajt evening tho ladles of the Congregational Con-gregational church gave a reception at the homo of Mrs. Charles Shields on. Park avenue in honor of the new pastor, pas-tor, Rev. D. Q. Grnblll. Tho affair was well attended nnd the new minister was given a cordial welcome. After the usual greetings a musical programme was rendered by some of the best talent tal-ent In Park City. - MorrlB Dusseldorf, ono of the chief stockholders of tho Comstock mine, came up from Salt Lake this morning nnd spent the greater portion of the day nt the mine. At present the outlook out-look at this property Is quite promising nnd the stockholders are very hopeful of some new developments In the not far distant future. W. W. Armstrong was an Incoming passenger on the morning train. He will remain In tho camp until Monday or Tuesday. . Mrs. JamcB W. Horton, mother of Mrs. Dr. R. E. Wight, and daughter Miss Ella May arrived from Water-town, Water-town, N. Y., this morning for a vl6lt of several weeks with Dr. and Mrs. Wight |
