Show DIMINUTIVE POODLE PROVES TO BE VICIOUS For half an hour yesterday afternoon pedestrians passing the west side of the Dooly block were deeply interested In the fate of a diminutive poodle with a bad set of teeth and a wicked-looking eye. It seems that a little girl of S years of age, named Lonora Walsh, had passed the corner, when the dog viciously snapped at her and. succeeded In Inflicting a bite which not only drew blood but seemed quite serious. Her mother rushed to a drug store and had the wound dressed, but the father, upon being told of the -occurrence, called a policeman and Insisted upon having the dog shot. The chief Interest in the affair, af-fair, when It was learned that the child's Injuries wore not serious, centered cen-tered In tho efforts of the policeman to lassoo the dog, In which tho help of sundry citizens was secured and many suggestions were offered. But the dog was wary, and every time a hand mado a movement he snapped at it, when It was quickly withdrawn. The dog was said to be owned by a man named Mahan, and later, when the matter was reported to headquarters, headquar-ters, the oiflcer In charge said that If tho. man could be found and permitted the execution of the dog, tho ofllcer was to shoot It, otherwise Mr. and Mrs. Walsh should come to the station and secure a warrant. The crowd shortly afterward sauntered away and the dog remained in possession of the field. |
