Show MRS, A. 0, WOODRUFF DIES IN MEXICO Friends of Mrs. A. O. AYoodruff, wife of Apostle Woodruff of the Mormon church, were shocked yesterday to learn of her death, which took place early yesterday morning In the City of Mexico, where Apostle and Mrs. Woodruff havo been visiting for several weeks past. Smallpox was the malady which caused the death of this well-known well-known young woman, and because of the nature of the disease, the remains were burled yesterday morning in the city where she died. Helen Winters Woodruff was a native na-tive of Utah and was the daughter of the late Oscar Winters and Mary Ann Winters. She was born In Utah county and there made her home until eight years ago, when she became the bride of Apostle Woodruff and came to this city to make her home. Here she has been very active in church work and was a member of the general board of the Y. L. M. I. A. at the time of her death. News of her death was broken at the conference of the Mutual Improvement Im-provement association yesterday morning, morn-ing, when a resolution of condolence Avas adopted and sent by telegraph to Apostle Woodruff at the City of Mexico. Mex-ico. In addition to a husband and several smnll children, Mrs. Woodruff leaves a number of brothers and slstera to mourn her loss, among them Mrs. Augusta Au-gusta Winters Grant. Mrs. John E. Booth of Provo and Cortez Winters of Ogden. All have the sympathy of the whole community In the death of one who, by her cheerful disposition and true womanhood, had endeared herself to all who knew her. |
