Show TAKES HER P0CKETB00K. Mrs. Nelson Victim of a Thief on Second West. Mrs. Nelson was the victim of a pickpockets pick-pockets attack last evening. While turning a corner of Second West and Second South about dusk a man came up from behind and snatched her pocket-book, which she was carrying in her hand. The thief immediately took to his heels, taking special care at all 'times to keep his face concealed. At first Mrs. Nelson stood as if slu-plfled, slu-plfled, but when she realized what hid been done she Immediately gave chase, screaming at every step. Several citizens citi-zens living in the locality, attracted by her screams, took up the pursuit but failed to land their victim, who had already gained too large a lead. The police were immediately notified of the robbery and set upon the thief's tracks. They were furnished with an excellent discriptlon of his garb and ithey will try to run him down before he has time to change costumes. The purse contained $2.35 in silver, but in addition there were some notes. |
