DELUGE AT BUTTE. Copper City .Visited by Heaviest Bain Storm in Its History. BUTTE. Mont. July 32. Tho heaviest rain In tho history of Butto for tho tlmo of the downpour fell here this evening, ono inch being measured from 1.30 to C o'clock. Drains were ineffective and tho strcots were swept by raging torrents, doing considerable con-siderable damage to sidewalks and property prop-erty and lining hundreds of cellars. Tho washing out of a flllxon tho B., A. & P. railroad delayed traffic several horns, while telegraph, telephone and street car service wero also greatly Interfered with for a time. Constant lightning and tho darkness of night mado tho scene an Impressive Im-pressive one. No estimate has yet been made of the damage, but It will amount) to several thousand.
