| Show MET TERRIBLE DEATH Louis Sinclair Killed by His Own Wagon WHEEL BROKE HIS NECK The Unfortunate Man Who Was a Cripple Tell From His Wagon When a Rut Was Struck and Was Dragged for Some Distance Before the Wheel Passed Over Him Breaking Break-ing His Week Team Continued On Until topped by n Sonof the Un fortunato Ittan Louis Sinclair a wellknown teamster team-ster met with a terrible death shortly before 4 oclock yesterday afternoon beneath the wheels of a heavilyladen wagon which he was driving The accident ac-cident occurred at the corner of State and Ninth South streets where thc unfortunate un-fortunate man indriving across a rut iu the street was thrown under his wagon a front wheel dragging him along the slippery street for a dozen yards befoie pausing over his head He died within a few minutes while lying in the muddy street Eycwltncfses of the accident say that Sinclair nt thc time of the accident acci-dent was driving at a lively trot It la evident that he failed tn notice a drain ditch that had been dug across the road and as the front wheels sank Into the ditch ho fell forward with the lurch of the wagon The fact that his right log had been amputate and re placed by a wooden limb undoubtedly hindered him from saving himself from his torrjble fate The heavy front wheel struck against the back of his neck and dragged him until a rock was encountered in the street Then it passed over his neck and the lower part Of his head The horses continued on a trot to be stopped a block from thc scene of the accident by eightyearold Eugene Sin clair youngest son of thc dead man The little fellow drpe the horses to their stable and then returned to the place where his father lay dead in the street remaining there until the body was removed to ODonnells undertaking undertak-ing establishment An examination of the body at that place last night showed that death had resulted from a broken neck Justice Lochrie after investigating the circumstances of the accident decided that an Inquest would npt be necessary The deceased who was 3S years of age leaves a wife and three small children chil-dren although he has not for sometime some-time past been living with his family who reside at 343 East Eighth South street |
