| Show TABERNACLE ORGAN COMPLETED i Turned Over to Church Auth critics and Fine Concert Given by 7c Dr Walter I 1 The great organ in the Tabernacle was finally declared completed and handed over to the church authorities yesterday by the builders the Kimball Kim-ball Organ company of Chicago through F W Hcdgland the expert who has been In charge of tho work with Experts Weiner and Mahlin as I associates The occasion was signalized I signal-ized by a fine concert yesterday noon I which lasted nearly two hours with Dr G W Walter organist of the Jewish Temple at Washington Das C1 D-as organist of the occasion The doctor doc-tor consented to officiate at the special request of President Snow and gave great satisfaction to 25pO people gathered I gath-ered to hear the fine Instrument The audience seemed to agree that the new organ out a rival was as the builders claim with I Dr Walter brought out wonderful stringed effects in the different selections selec-tions given especially in Marltana and the Visions of a Dream and his handling of the finer stoP in Tann hauser was most admirable The vox humana clarinet and flute stops deserve de-serve all the praise given them and the performer brought out the fact that the vox humana stop can be shaded by combinations with other stops so us to be given the pure reed or the pipe tones as may be desired Dr ralter Is an accomplished artist Mr Goddard aa usual did well in his selections The audience was enthusiastic and gave both Dr Walter and Mr Goddavd warm applause A delightful little I party was given last night at the home of Col and Mrs Clayton In honor of Dr Walter Mr Ilodgland Mr Weiner Mr Mahlin and a number of local musicians 1 |
