| Show l US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY PROF FIELD TO HAVE CHARGE IN ROCKY MOUNTAINS He Will Meet Chief Hydrographer of the Survey in Salt Lake on the 15th Instant tJ I TRIBUNE BUREAU Q J Y 501 Fourteenth Street Washington DC May 1 1D01 Prof Co H Field of the United States geological survey will leave here for Salt Lake Cheyenne and Denver where he will consult with the local officers of thc survey in reference to work to bed be-d noJn the Rocky mountain region during thc present month 11 j In Wyoming the survey contemplates making thorough examination of the proposed project for diverting waters of Green river In Ulntah county for the purpose of irrigating a large area of I land now wholly desert in character Examination will also be made of the Crow creek basin west Cheyenne to demonstrate its adaptability for buildIng build-Ing reservoirs therein In Montana the survey will continue the work on the project of diverting the waters of St Marys river for the reclamation and Irrigation of a large extent of country In Colorado survey will be made of the Gunnison river tunnel tun-nel project In cooperation with the work to be done by the State Prof Field will meet Chief Hydro Rrapher Newell of the survey at Salt Lake on May 15th nnd after consultation consulta-tion will take general charge of the work of the survey in the Rocky mountain moun-tain States RESERVE AGENT APPROVED The Comptroller of the Currency has approved ho Mechanics National 1 bank of St Louis as a reserve agent for the Desciet National bank of Salt Lake City PENSIONS GRANTED Utah Original Abrojn N Randolph Salt Lake 0 Idaho Original Amazlah Strickland Emmett SO Wyoming SpanishAmerican War Original James M White Big Horn 30 |
