Lavnu3e on Trial for Embezzling it ilicey United Slates Commissioner Jennings vas engaged yesterday afternoon in the hearing of the case against A T Lawrence charged with embezzling 649 sheep valued at J1500 from Thomas JMayre of Bingham The complaining vitness alleged that Lawrence had mortgaged the sheep In Question which were in his care The defendant admitted ad-mitted that he owed IMayne the number of sheep alleged but denied that he had mortgaged them He had mortgaged mort-gaged some sheep but had a herd of 2SOO unmortgaged which he said included in-cluded Maynes 649 head After hearing the testimony whIch Was somewhat conflicting his honor took it under advisement until 2 p in today at which time he Trill render Judgment t There was a second charge against I Tvrence of embezzling 1100 pounds of wool the hearing of which hse been Indefinitely postponed
