I I I C THORESEN Of Hyrum Cache county was born May I 2 1S52 in Christiana Norway where he received the benefit of the nubile schools until 18G3 when he emigrated with his 111i11 THOIIESOX parents to Utah and settled at Hyrum Cache county which he has ever since made his home Since 18S3 he has hoed his own row working in the summer Worklnb for farmers railroading and mining and attending school during the winter finishing fin-ishing his scholastic education in the Cache Valley academy In 1873 That year lIe married 3L Christine NeSlsen and entered the Hyrum City academy as principal From 1S78 to 1S91 he taught school in several places with success and also illleu several important civil positions posi-tions including surveyor attorney school trustee and mayor of Hyrum City and delegate to the Utah constitutional conventions of 1KS2 and 1S87 During 1812 he filled with credit the offices of prosecuting prose-cuting attorney and surveyor of Cache county Mr Thor sen has taken an ac the part in prospecting for minerals ga and artesian water In northern Utah as well as In the establishment of home in dustries He owns one of the best homes in Hyrum City and a good farm Mr Thoresen is the champion of Democracy in Hyrum and has done good work for his party elsewhere As a successful in dependent selfmade practical man Mr Thoresen is all right
