| Show IisNITiiIIE INfl ST ClAIR FOUND ON STREET AND TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Had Been leading a Fast life and I Grieved Over the Death of Her I Child The mysterious woman who was brought into the police station Friday evening raving and insane is Inez St Clair She has been living In houses of illrepute for about four months and is fairly well known among the demimonde demi-monde When brought to the station Friday evening she was wet and bedraggled having been out in the rain for hours wandering about in a demented condition condi-tion She raved at the station and cried out in tones of agony for her child At the hospital she continued wild and Incoherent throughout the night screaming and crying by turns But during yesterday shQ was fairly calm and rational But she refused to talk even to the sister who attended her When asked if she was suffering pain her reply was that her eyes and head hurt She simply stared at the walls and ceilings vacantly proving that her mind was not yet normal When asked if she lived in Salt Lake she refused to reply The woman is afflicted with nervousness nervous-ness brought on by physical troubles and morbid brooding over the loss of her child about eight months ago in St Joseph Mo which has unbalanced her mind She was brought here six months ago by Ada Wilson and remained in her place about four months It is said that one day she became despondent and going to the house of Fay Valentine Valen-tine tried to commit suicide She remained re-mained there Miss Valentine however how-ever said last night that the girl had not been in her place for live months and that then she had stayed only two or three weeks Her brother on learning the character I charac-ter of life she was leading wrote that if she would reform and lead a proper life he would send her enough money I each month to support herself in good style At the time she left Fay Valentines Val-entines place It was in compliance with the terms of her brothers letter Atone At-one time she said that she was going to live with the Sisters of Charity Whether she did go to them is unknown j un-known From the character of the letters from the brother which were seen by others it is judged that the girls family fam-ily was rather above the class from which women come Dr Root who Is attending the patient pa-tient said last night that she was suffering suf-fering from nervous prostration He was quite certain that she had not made an attempt to commit suicide by taking a drug |
