Show Hmrdom km WOODS CROSS South Davis County is a potential "keg of dynamite" because of hazardous materials that pass through the area. SPEAKING AT a meeting of the Woods Cross Emergency Service Team last week, Harry Radabough, hazardous materials mate-rials specialist for Union Pacific Paci-fic Railroad, told the group that 70 percent of all hazardous materials that pass through Davis County are carried by railroad cars. He said that trucks, pipelines, pipe-lines, aircraft, etc., also transport trans-port hazardous materials through Davis County. "In fact, only the waterways can be eliminated as a source of transportation of these dangerous danger-ous materials and chemicals," he said. MR. RADABOUGH empha sized that south Davis County is potentially a "hot spot" even though all agencies, in- eluding the railroad, are making mak-ing every effort to keep dangers dan-gers to a minimum. |
