Show t By MATT OWEN ! Almost nine weeks of the School year have been Completed. Where does the time go? Next week is test Week as the first term of School is over. LOOKING back at the past week, many honors have borne to Woods Cross High. The Wildcat marching band, jn its first year of existence, has captured the eyes of many. i A week ago today the band (performed at Davis Cup finishing third ahead of eleven other schools including Bountiful and Viewmont. Steven Richens, band director, direc-tor, and all members of the band, flag corps, and rifle torps are to be congratulated lor their excellent job. I AWARDS ALSO go to Voods Cross through our golf team. Oct. 17 the team com-Jjeted com-Jjeted in the first annual Davis pounty Golf Invitational and fcaptured first place honors, j Brian Richens led the assault as-sault to the team trophy as he lied for low medalist honors, jkhich he lost in a sudden tfeath playoff. The next day jthis same team competed (again, finishing fourth in (he Region IV Tournament and jeamed a trip to the state golf tournament being held today jat Stansbury. THIS WEEK'S other attractions at-tractions include volleyball fend football. The girls jvolleyball team was Sundefeated at this writing vith games yesterday against 'Davis and tomorrow vs. Box lder. This group of gals is ivell on its way to the state journament, especially with Iwo key victories this week. On the other end of the spectrum, the Wildcat football foot-ball team is looking to upset !Jhe undefeated Logan GriAlies on Friday afternoon ?n Logan. This is the last i game of the season for the team as they are looking to finish the season with a winning win-ning record of five wins and four losses. AS THE term ends next-week next-week the intellectuals will get' their moment in the spotlight. Wednesday, Nov. 1, the induction in-duction to the National Honor Society will take place. Congratulations to all who have achieved this prestigious pres-tigious honor. Wildcats, study up and get plenty of rest for the tests that are on their way. Think about Senior Week which is five weeks away. |
