Ken's de; ; By MELINDA NOKER 'This is the hour of Viking Power" truly represents Viewmont High and our achievements so far this year. : SPECIAL congratulations and thanks are extended to: the Viking band for their hard work and representing Viewmont View-mont well at the Davis Cup; Shonya Dewall, our Viking baton twirler, who placed third in the Davis Cup; to Wendy Zeigler, who placed fourth in the state tennis meet; and also to our PTSA officers for making Health Education Week the big success suc-cess that it was. We're proud of these true Vikings and their accomplishments, i Another special recognition is extended to our sophomore, J. V., and varsity football teams. These guys have been Working hard since July and we're happy to say, this year's team was one of the best. Your final chance to witness another Viking victory vic-tory is today at 4, as the Bonneville Bon-neville Lakers travel to Viewmont View-mont City. I TOMORROW, our gals Volleyball team plans to defeat Roy on the Royals court at 4. At 7: 30 that even-tag, even-tag, the National Honor Society Induction will be held 8n the VHS auditorium. Members and parents are in- vited to attend. On Friday, the Region I Cross Country meet will be held. We have an outstanding team this year, and we wish them the best in their running. run-ning. NEXT WEEK will be the final week of the first term. Time has really zoomed by. In sports, we have the girls volleyball team playing Tuesday Tues-day (Weber at Viewmont) and Thursday (Viewmont at Skyview). Both games begin at 4. On Tuesday, Halloween, students will be allowed to wear costumes, but no masks. As a special treat, the art department will provide the face painting that turned into a success last year. Then on Wednesday, the debate team steps into action as they compete com-pete with Layton and Woods Cross at Bountiful, 10: 45 a.m. LOOKING ahead, the drama department will show they're hard-worked for results in the school production, produc-tion, "Harvey." Performances Perfor-mances will be Friday and Saturday evenings, Nov. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. The public is invited. in-vited. Also, the Harvest Dance is creeping up on Nov. 10. Tickets will be $2.50 per couple and the attire will be casual. Boys-have you found your dates, yet? |
