Show Alta Thorley Perkins dies in Salt Lake Hospital; Services held Alta "Sarge" Thorley Perkins, 55, of Milford, died at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City of leukemia, July 1, 1976. Alta was born June 7, 1921 in Cedar City to Morton C. and Rachel Harris Thorley. On July 23, 1946 she married Homer Ray Gibson in Kansas " City, Kansas. Later divorced. She married Jesse Ray Perkins November 1, 1951 inPioche, Nev. Mrs. Perkins was a hard worker and did a variety of work including in-cluding waitressing and school bus driving. She loved sports and was a great supporter of the Little League program, serving as scorekeeper for seventeen years. Survivors include: Her husband Jesse R. of Milford; two . daughters, Sharon Sanders, and Mrs. Dennis (Bonnie) Hardy, two sons: David and Jesse Jr. all Milford. Three stepsons: Ray Perkins, San Bernardino, Calif. ; Jay Perkins, U.S. Airforce, Ken Perkins, Arizona. Parents: Mr. and Mrs. Morfon Thorley of Cedar City, four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Wallace (Helen) Flanigan, Mrs. S. W. (Pat) Heyborne, and Elliott H. Thorley all of Cedar City. Mrs. Gene (Florence) T. Baired, Henderson, Hen-derson, Nevada; David H. Thorley, of Scottsdale, Arizona. Funeral services were held Wednesday July 7, at 1 p.m. in the Milford LDS Chapel in Milford, with Bishop Sheldon Albrecht conducting. Burial was in Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuaries. |
