Show Alice Dotson Dies At Pioche Hospital Alice M. Dotson, long-time resident of Modena died on Apr. 4 following a lingering illness at the Pioche Hospital. Funeral services were held at Modena on April 7. i Mrs. Dotson, nearly 90 years old, has been an active church and civic worker. For the past several years Mrs. Dotson ha i been highly active In the annual Polio campaign In the community. commu-nity. Each year she has quilted a blanket to be given away In behalf of the annual fund drive. Conducting the services at the Community hall was Richard Thorley. Burial was at the Modena Mo-dena cemetery. Speakers at the services were Grant Lee of Panaca and Samuel Sam-uel F (Bud) Leigh of Cedar City. Invocation was by Bishop Garland Gar-land Hollingshead. The musical program Included two numbers. "Nearer My God to Thee," and "Abide With Me,.' by the Women's Wo-men's chorus of Modena, and a vocal duet, "Wonderful Mother of Mine" by the Lund sisters. Mrs. Dotson was a pioneer in Kansas In her early years and in Oklahoma after her marriage. She also lived in Hamlin Valley after 1920, before moving to Modena. Mo-dena. Mrs. Dotson Is survived by three children, Mrs. Julia Storm of Chula Vista, Calif.; Mrs. Min-nie Min-nie Joffee of El Cajon, Calif., and Robert E. Dotson of Panaca, Nev. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children, six great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Min-nie Poole of Bellville, Kansas. Attending the services from Cedar City were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller and daughter. Out of town relatives attending attend-ing the services were Mr. and Mrs. Leon Joffee, El Cajon, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cooley, Wh'.ttier, Calif.; Mrs. Julia Storm. Chula Vista, Calif; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miller and two daughters, daugh-ters, Igo, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Miller, Pico. Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rich, and daughter, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Eleanor Crltchlow and daughter, Ogden; Mrs. Mitchell White and children, chil-dren, Mllford; Bryce Dotson. Pro-vo, Pro-vo, and Joyce Murdock, Orem. |
