The judges have sen selected with great care ii the decisions of the judges ! 'i be final. The County Fair Board will not be responsible for damage to or theft of exhibits, but agree to take precaution by keeping someone in charge at all times. EXHIBITS WILL be open Thursday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. No exhibits are to removed before the time scheduled in the respective departments. Exhibits will be released at 7 p.m., Aug. 23. All entries to the fair will be made through the Lagoon resort auto gate. The old Lagoon lane gates will be used for exit purposes only. AMONG THE attractions of the fair is the annual Miss Davis County Queen contest which was held at Clearfield High School auditorium on . Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. with Mrs. Nada Nicholas as chairman. Crowned as Queen and the two attendants were: Miss Robin Wallace of Clearfield who was selected as Queen and will reign as "Miss Davis County" along with her two attendants, Miss Madalenn Eggett of West Bountiful -first attendant and Miss Kathryn Marks of Sunset as second attendant. THE DAVIS County Barbershop Bar-bershop quartet competition will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. at the Lake Park Terrace, Lagoon under the direction of Mrs. Maxine Smith. The annual Farm Bureau talent find is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Clearfield High School with Mrs. Dix Smith, chairman. chair-man. THIS CONTEST is open for vocal solos, duets, trios, or,, quartettes, instrumental solos or combinations of any instrument, in-strument, novelty stunts, dance numbers, readings or dramatic numbers. No number may include more than four persons and no number to exceed five minutes. Included in the fair exhibits will be home arts department ; needlework and home handicraft; han-dicraft; poultry; rabbits; FFA and 4-H Clubs tractor driving contest; junior agricultural division; junior livestock auction. 4-H AND FFA Horse show; hobby department; fieldcrops and vegetables; horticultural department; livestock department; depart-ment; beef cattle division; sheep division. Others are special contest and events division; demonstrations; demon-strations; illustratedtalks and picture story slide series contest; con-test; meal preparation contest, con-test, public speaking contest; art department; county recreation; arts and crafts; childrens and infants clothing and remodeling; clothing (knit and crocheted); senior citizens division; photography. pho-tography. HIGH SCHOOL and junior high school home arts division (4-H club department which will include clothing exhibits, knitting, food exhibits, food preservation-canning exhibit; improvements exhibits and photography. Also will be Entomology, quilts, afghans, pictures, wall hangings, furniture, rugs, and pillows, baking, canning for youth under 16, various exhibits of home canning, clothing new and remodeled, Floracultural department. ::::tk FFA AND 4-H Club dairy division. FFA and 4-H poultry, garden collection, junior rodeo and youth performance -events. Among the other special events is the horse shows including quarter horse show, all breed horse show. THE DAVIS County Commissioners, Com-missioners, Stanley Smoot, Glen W. Flint and C. Evan Moss said, "It is through the unselfish contributions of time and service of numerous Davis County residents in assisting as-sisting the Fair Board, that this fair is made possible," and they encourage everyone to take part in the fair to make the best fair ever, np |
