Show lauis Botj EM: Poop ' August 16 marked the opening day of the bow hunt. Success in the Davis County area was very poor. Many hunters checked reported seeing very few deer. BOW HUNTING has gained a great deal of popularity over the last few years. It is considered con-sidered a true art with great personal satisfaction in the bagging of a deer. Hunters however, need to use some caution before entering en-tering the field. The 1975 deer proclamation contains the rules and regulations governing govern-ing the bow hunt. ONE OF these regulations which is most commonly overlooked and violated states: "It shall be unlawful for any person who has obtained ob-tained an archery permit to have in his possession, camp, vehicle or otherwise be in control of any type of firearm while on an area open to archery hunting." OVER A dozen hunters were in violation of this law this past weekend in Davis County. Hunters are warned to be better informed of the 1975 deer proclamation before entering the field. The general season for taking waterfowl, whistling swan, Wilson's snipe, coot and gallinule has been set for the period from Oct. 4 1975 through Jan. 4, 1976. The geese hunting season in the State of Utah has been set for the period Oct. 11, through Dec. 14. |
