Show Golden Years Events The fall activities at the Golden Years Center are being be-ing planned with a variety of activities. There are the usualf classes and many special events. "BEHIND THE Iron Curtain" Cur-tain" will be a special hour at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25 with Heidi Van Ert showing films and speaking of her travels in that part of Europe. Everyone is invited to attend this outstanding travelogue. The Utah State Fair will host the senior citizens on .Wednesday, Sept. 10. Special prices will be given for the Ice Capades, make reservations for the tickets and bus at the Golden Years Center. THE HEALTH Seminar is scheduled for Sept. 11 and 12 at the center, 1-5 p.m. with specialists in various diseases giving lectures on food sanitation; sani-tation; arthritis; heart and stroke disease; home preventive preven-tive medicine; medical quackery and fraud; diabetes and hypoglycemia; cancer and mental health. Plan to attend one or all of these important discussions to which everyone is invited, especially all adults. This seminar is sponsored by the Davis County Health Department, Depart-ment, Davis County Medical Association, USU Extension Service and the State Medical Association. ON SEPT. 13 the annual fall festival of leaves will. bus people through Ogden Canyon through Monte Cristo to Bear Lake. A stop for lunch at Sweetwater and return through Logan Canyon. Make reservations at the center. Call immediately, 295-3479 if you plan to attend the classes for lapidary, woodwork wood-work and metal work, beginning begin-ning in Sept. at Viewmont and Woods Cross High Schools. THE FIRST monthly luncheon will be held at Viewmont High School on Sept. 18. Reservations must be made at the center by Sept. 15 and those not making the reservations will not be able to attend the luncheons. All luncheons for the fall and winter will be held at Viewmont High and it is absolutely ab-solutely necessary to make reservations at the center before each luncheon.
