Yalo expects ex-pects to have . a well-balanced representative repre-sentative team in the intercollegiate track world this cominjr season. Last spring Yal won from both Harvard and Princeton in dual meots, and finished third in the intercollegiate championships, champion-ships, after four events had boon left baro of promising material through the previous graduation. Next season but six of tho 1008 team -will bo missing and with the entiro freshman squad available, which tied with Harvard and Princeton first year team in tho freshman fresh-man dual meets, an unusually Btrong squad of candidates will bo out for tho coaches to work with. Dray and Gilbert aro lost, for tho polo vault event, but with Campbell, Roberts, Rob-erts, Reynolds, Nelson, Osborn and Bloisfcin as tho candidates. Yalo followers fol-lowers expect to bo strong in this department. de-partment. L. B. Stevens, who won both the dashes in the Harvard meet, has been graduated, but there appears to be a wealth of material for the short-distanco short-distanco competitions, among them being be-ing Cary, who won both dnshes in tho Princeton meet; Burch, Butlor, Lilloy, Hopkins and Bleistcin. For tho -HO-yard dash, La Montagnc, Parsons, Sny, der, Seymour and nand will bo available, avail-able, while in the half-mile, M. D. Kir-iassoff. Kir-iassoff. Short and L. S. Kir.iassof will be out. Tilson was tho only half-milor lost through graduation. For the milo and Iwo-milo runs, Spitzor, Coney, Mann. Brown. "Wcoks, Lightner, Has-koll. Has-koll. Ingalls. Marsh and Bartlctt will be tho candidates, Tho aspiring hurdlers hurd-lers includo Captain Howe, who won the 220-yard event in the intcrcol-legiatcs; intcrcol-legiatcs; Robbins, King and Kilpatrick, Buhrman and Biglow will bo missing from the weight events. Howover, Goe bel, Oooncy, Grcenough, Andrus, Kilpatrick Kil-patrick and Pcabody are eligible. Coy, Jiilcv. Reynolds and WiUiams will do the high .lumping, and in broad .-jumping none have been lost through graduation, Davis, Augur, Daoust, Kilpatrick, Dearborn Dear-born and some freshmen being among tho possibilities. |
