Show UNUSUAL HONOR FOR HALYOR 6. COULTER "Word was rccoived iu this city yesterday yes-terday afternoon of the promotion of Ilalvor G. Coulter to bo first lieutenant in the Coast Artillery corps, stationed at Fort Monroe. Va. Lieutenant Coul ter is well known in this city, where his parents. Dr. and Mrs. Chester E. Coultor, reside. Tie graduated at West Point academy with high honors near tho head of his class last February. After graduation ho spent a short leave of absence in this city until tho middlo of last May, when ho was assigned as-signed to duty in the Coast Artillery at Fort Monroe. Three weeks ago he passed a military examination before Iho United States Army Board of Examiners, Ex-aminers, and has just received his commission com-mission as first lieutenant. Lioutonant Coulter is said to bo the voungest officer offi-cer of that rank in the t'nited States army, being but -2 vears of age. |
