Show - J f 4 h Drunken driver charged with automobile homicide By JANIS STUART WOODS CROSSOne day, David Devenport was planning his wedding and the next day his family was planning his funeral. Delphine Pay an, the driver of a vehicle that struck Deven port's auto head on, has been charged with automobile homicide. Five vehicles were involved in a 9:55 pm accident on 1-15 near the Woods Cross exit on Feb. 28. Devenport, 24, 627 Longview Dr., Murray, and his fiancee Tracy Anderson were returning to school in Logan after a visit with their families. Payan's southbound Buick swerved across the median and col lided with a Nissan driven by Devenport. Payan was taken to Lakeview Hospital, where a test showed a blood-alcohol level of .15 percent. The legal limit for blood-alcohol blood-alcohol in Utah is .08 percent Payan was booked into the Davis County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. Devenport was pronounced dead at the scene. His fiancee, Tracy Anderson, 23, Murray, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital, where she is listed in serious seri-ous condition. Bev Trabanio, 43, and Tamary Trabino, 20, both from Layton, were occupants in a Chevy Corsica that was also struck by the defendant's defen-dant's car. They were treated for minor injuries and released from McKay-Dee Hospital. Kurt Malone, 36, Layton, was not injured when his Ford Mustang collided col-lided with the Corsica and Buick. Devenport is the son of Eugene and Vivi-Ann Devenport of Murray. He was an accomplished young man who had just returned in January from a mission for his church in London, England. Devenport had earned the honor of Eagle Scout, was a graduate of Murray High and was attending Utah State University. He and Anderson were planning a June wedding.
