Amy was injured when she hit her chin on the dash as the vehicle, in which she was a passenger, was totaled. She was taken to Lakeview Hospital, where she received stitches stit-ches and was released. She then went to her grandmother's home where she began to have difficulty with breathing and was transported back to the hospital where she was pronounced dead at 3:47 a.m. Amy had a previous medical history of spina bifida. Investigation Investiga-tion of the accident indicated that the doctors believe brain damage was not sufficient to cause Amy's deatn.
