Show Bountiful Community Theatre presents play v The high rolling biblical spoof "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is presently present-ly in rehearsal as the next Bountiful Community Theater stage production. produc-tion. It is scheduled to be presented for eight performances Friday, March 23 through Saturday, March 31 in the Bountiful High School auditorium. (No performance Sunday, Sun-day, March 25.) Curtain time will be 7:30 p.m. Stanford Smith, chairman of the Bountiful Community Theater, reports that this production, will be presented on a grand scale never before seen in this area. The normal cast of 1 8 will be expanded to nearly near-ly 60 singers, dancers and principal performers. The set is an enhanced design in size and maneuverability with flying scenes, turning walls and rolling sets. Cast in principal roles are actors who have appeared previously in "Joseph" at Promised Valley Playhouse and the Lagoon Opera House. A treat for the audiences will be the beautiful and multi-talented multi-talented Tingey sisters, Jacque and Debra. Jacque and Debra are both currently cur-rently serving as Miss Utahs. Jacque Jac-que is Miss Utah for the Miss America Pageant and Debra is Miss Utah for the Miss USA Pageant. Each has held a total of 15 beauty titles. The Tingey sisters have performed per-formed together as a singing duo for many years. They are cast as the narrators in this production of !" Joseph." Debra Tingey, Miss Utah USA and her sister Jacque Tingey, Miss Utah for the Miss America Pageant will be featured as the narrators in the upcoming BCT production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." The production is directed by Dennis Ferrin, who also directed the productions at Promised Valley Playhouse and at Lagoon. Dennis' last directing assignment for BCT was "My Fair, Lady" starring Robert Peterson and Grace Henderson. Hender-son. The choreographer is Marilyn Montgomery, who recently choreographed "Annie" for Promised Prom-ised Valley Playhouse' and "Salute to Irving Berlin," currently playing at the Utah Theater. The music director is Ernest Nielson, and the costume designer is Jerri Christian. Dennis Ferrin designed the sets. The show is a rollicking musical spoof from the biblical tale of Joseph being sold into slavery in Egypt. It is a delightful soft-rock fantasy that takes the audience through pastiche of vaudevillian routines, country western, calypso, 50's rock and roll and a touch of acid rock- |
