Show Utah Figure Skating members earn medals at Winter Games By TQM HARALDSEN BOUNTIFUL-Just before fellow Utah Figure Skating Club members Holly Cook and Clay Sniteman were winning national honors, several club skaters were enjoying success at the 1990 Utah Winter Games. Solo skater Kevin Garrett and the pair of Shannon Smith and Don Shaeffer demonstrated the talents which had earned them a trip to the San Diego USFSA sectionals prior to the Games. An exhibition of precision skating was also given during the Games by the club's Peppermint Twists, members of whom included Danielle Dimeo, Niki Murdock, Laura Travis, Natalie Baudrey, Tricia Smith, Katrina George, Kim Tayler, Andrea An-drea Parrish, Julie Folau and Lori Halversen. Among those skaters from the Utah Figure Skating Club who earned medals at the Winter Games were the following: Special Olympics Ladies A: Bonnie Adams, first. Advanced Leam-to-skate: Megan Parker, first, and Janelle Bullough, third. Basic 3-4: Bre Anne McConkie, first. Basic 4-5: Catherine McConkie, third. Freestyle 1-2: Jenni Jones, third. Freestyle 3-4: Jennilyn Mitchell, first, and Shadi Ashrafi, second. Intermediate Ladies: Amber Starr-Martin, first. Juvenile Boys: John McKinnon, second, and Aaron Strickland, third. Juvenile Girls: Shayna Lund, first Novice Ladies: Angie Law son, third. Novice Men: Kevin Garrett, second. se-cond. Pre-preliminary Girls A: Rachelle Buckner, first, and Breckon Hepworth, second. Pre-preliminary Girls B: Sara -Brunson, first, and Heather Hard-man, Hard-man, second Preliminary Boys: Cody Craynor, second, and Michal McKinnon, third. Preliminary Girls: Emily Haws, third.
