Show The Sons of Utah Pioneers will hold an open house on September 19 at their facility at the mouth of Parley's Canyon, 3301 East 2920 South, in Salt Lake City. Sons of Utah Pioneers schedule Open House Lawrence L. Epperson, president presi-dent of the South Davis Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers (SUP), has announced an open house at the headquarters of "The National Society" on Saturday, Sept. 19, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. All interested citizens of the south Davis area are invited to visit this fine facility located at the mouth of Parleys Canyon at 3301 E. 2920 S., Salt Lake City. This structure is located at the point where the great bulk of the pioneers ented the Salt Lake Valley. Val-ley. It is the last building on the south side of the canyon as one approaches Wasatch Boulevard on 1-80. i In order for the charter to Rive the south Davis community an opportunity to have an enjoyable visit and tour of the national headquarters head-quarters building, the South Davis Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers plans the following actions: ac-tions: Publicize the coming event in the Davis County Clipper to take place at the national headquarters on Saturday, Sept. 19, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Announce an open invitation to all south Davis County officials, clergymen and stake presidents and bishops of the LDS Church to attend the SUP open house with their wives, companions, friends, neighbors and families throughout the south Davis County area. Encourage all members of the South Davis Chapter of the SUP to make special efforts to personally, invite their friends and neighbors to join them in visiting the national headquarters building; with its hall memorializing the pioneer ancestors; ances-tors; library of journals, histories and genealogies; meeting facilities, and dance hall with an inspiring and romantic view of the Salt Lake Valley by night. , Provide suitable refreshments for all visitors and arrange for guides to show them around, distribute distri-bute literature and applications for membership, and show such movies or videos as may be available avail-able for presenting the program of the SUP in a memorable way. Initiate a special Bicentennial membership drive between Sept. 19 and Jan. 1, 1988 at reduced rates. Chapter dues of $ 10 for 1988 need not be paid in those cases ' where new members have either paid the $15 fee to join the national; or $150 to become a lifetime member mem-ber of this prestigious non-profit national heritage organization. |
