Show S. H. Stake M Men Games UnderWay The third week of the Sugar House Stake M Men basketball tournament was played Thursday, Thurs-day, Nov. 20, at the West High gym. In the first game of the evening eve-ning Sugar House edged Marlborough Marl-borough 13-12 in a loosely played game featuring many attempts at-tempts but few goals. Marlborough's Marlbor-ough's Bob Lucas missed a chance to become the hero of the game when he was fouled at the final whistle while attempting at-tempting a shot. He was allowed allow-ed two free shots after the play was discontinued but the pressure pres-sure evidently proved too great. He missed both tries. Richards Wins In the second game Richards . beat Bryan 34-25 in a game that was closer than the score indicates. indi-cates. In the first quarter Bryan kep control of the ball and th5 game grabbing an 11-5 lead. Thpv cooled off. however, leav- ing the score 15 to 14 for Bryan at half time. Richards kept up their accelerated accel-erated pace through the third quarter scoring 10 points and holding Bryan to only 4, giving Richards a 24-19 lead going into the final quarter. Both teams were tiring and the 3-minute warning found only a 3 point difference between the two teams. Richards immediately broke loose for four baskets so fast it was hard to keep count of them. Bryan scored once more and Richards then kept control of the ball until the final gun. Results: Sugar House 13, Marlborough 12. Richards 34, Bryan 25. The Standings: W. L. Pet.
