Show Gala Variety Show Set By S. H. Lions for Dec 11, 8:15 PM The Sugar House Lions are on the march again . . . this time with their now famous Annual Variety Show. All trails lead to D the Granite High Auditorium, Thursday evening, Dec. 11, at 8:15. Hundreds of tickets are being sold by local Lions to attend the all-star program and .prize drawing extravaganza. I General chairman, Ray R. McFarlane, announces that final arrangements have been completed com-pleted for the affair. A five-star five-star program has been lined up which will include the Swanee Singers, Martell's Marvels, Bill Post, featured artist from KALL, the Gay Rancheros and the famous fa-mous (?) Lions' Skit. Funds for Charity The show is put on each year by the Sugar House Lions, proceeds pro-ceeds from which go to charity funds, chosen by the club. Mr. McFarlane added that: "In the past the activities of our charity char-ity committee have been numerous nu-merous and through the cooperation coop-eration shown us by the residents resi-dents of Sugar House, makes it possible for us to continue with this outstanding activity of our Lions Club ... to alleviate distress dis-tress and to assist in all worthy charity." Sub-Committee Chairmen Assisting Mr. McFarlane are the numerous sub-committee chairmen: Dow Brian, reception; Henry Richards, publicity and advertising; Lincoln T. Hansen, Han-sen, ticket sales; William O. Lee, prizes; Ray Stringham, Lions Skit; Russell Magleby; Roy de Karver, printed programs. According to Mr. Lee, chairman chair-man of the prize committee, merchants of Suga . House and the city have been very cooperative cooper-ative in donating substantial and valuable prizes. Some of the prizes being offered are valued val-ued at $60. Several of these prizes are on display at the First National Bank in Sugar House. Officers of the Lions who are directing' the activities of the group are: Wallace L. Smith, president; Duane Wright, vice president; Karl Hale, second vice president; Rodney Ashby, third vice president; Calvin R. Woolley, secretary - treasurer; Chet Midgley, tail twister; Dow Brian, Lion Tamer. |
