Show S. II. Ward Members Have Busy Week - - Plan Even Busier Month Fred Curtis of the stake nigh council held an audience of ward people in the palm of his hands Sunday evening while he related experiences of the July SUP trek from Nauvoo. There have been many wonderful wonder-ful stories come out of the trip and many were related that we had not heard before. Lanore Edward, representing the L. D. S. girls, gave a short talk. The music for the evening was furnished by the ward choir under un-der the direction of Walter Roberts. Richards Ward a convention I was held for all Seventies of stake and their wives. ' Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jensen and children spent an enjoyable enjoy-able week end down in Fillmore visiting friends and relatives. December's such a busy month that right at the start we'd like to give you some special dates to mark on your calendar. Make the circle big and red lest you forget: Dec. 7, Special fast day for general European relief. Dec. 11, the ward welfare dinner to be held in the amusement hall. Dec. 16, M. I. A. Christmas dance for all Mutual members. Dec. 18, Dancing Club Christmas dance for all members and their guests. Dec. 19, Christmas play, presented by the Primary children. chil-dren. You'll be hearing more about these events. Monday, Dec. 8, at the home of Mrs. Jean Allen, 1011 Hollywood the regular Primary teacher training lesson and social will be held. Christmas will be the theme for the evening and it is being' looked forward to by all Primary officers and teachers. Primary union meeting will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, for all ward and stake Primary workers. work-ers. Leah Bond. Alfonse Pia was named to succeed suc-ceed Alma Peterson as superintendent super-intendent of the Sunday School. Alma has left for Seattle with his family to make his home. Marvin Curtis and Dean Chip-man Chip-man will serve as counselors to the new superintendent. Two new teachers have been added to the Sunday Schoq.1 recently. " June Daniels is teaching teach-ing the 6 year old class and Marie Singleton the 7 year olds. When the S. L. Browns returned re-turned from their trip to Mesa, Ariz., they were brimming over with news of son, Bob, and their experiences there. Bob is doing fine work as a missionary mission-ary and is enjoying it. He is also enjoying good health and sends greetings to all his friend's in the ward. Sunday, Dec. 7, all L. D. S. wards will hold special fast day services. The money that is collected on that day will go for European relief. It will be used for all the peoples of Europe, Eu-rope, not just church members. Wherever it Is needed most will be sent. All ward members are urged to participate in this event and observe fast day. Dec. 8 in Bryan Ward the Genealogical Gen-ealogical Society will hold its meeting. .All ward members interested in-terested in the genealogical program are invited. Thursday night, Dec. 4, in |
