Show Tarvis M. Nelson LAYTON Jarvis Milton Nelson, Nel-son, 73, of 1522 N. 400 W., died Monday, Feb. 22, 1988 at his home of cancer. He was born May 29, 1914 in Bear River City, a son of Rudol-phus Rudol-phus William and Josephine McMurrin Cavanaugh Nelson. He married Maxine Whitaker July 1, 1943 in Brigham City. The marriage was solemnized Feb. 16, 1988 in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was reared and educated in ' Bear River, graduating from Box' Elder High School in 1932. He was a member of the Layton :': 7th LDS Ward. ' He was an avid hunter, fisherman fisher-man and horseman. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1934, serving in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War. He retired in 1953. He had worked at Hill Air Force Base in instrument repair, retiring in 1972, after 36 years of service. Surviving are his wife of Layton, four sons and one daughter, Michael J. Nelson, Farmington; Steven P. Nelson, Nixa, Mo.; Douglas B. Nelson, Layton; Mark L. Nelson, Clearfield; Mrs. Walter (Kathleen) Schofield, Layton; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson. great-grandson. Also surviving is one sister, Viroqua FprsRren, Ogden. Funeral services were held Feb. 25. Bishop Kent T. Rampton of the Layton 7th Ward officiated. Family prayer was by Michael J. Nelson; prelude, Gordon L. Nelson, Douglas B. Nelson, Walter L. Schofield, Mark L. Nelson, Morgan Nelson and Lance Lvbareer. Temporary interment in Lind-quist's Lind-quist's Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden, with permanent per-manent interment at Lindquist's Layton Cemetery when it is completed. com-pleted.
