Show By MATT REED Imagine yourself in the halls of Bountiful High. Everywhere around you are students rushing to classes, talking with friends, and eating all sorts of interesting foods. You overhear someone talking about a group of girls who have done a great job this year. Your mind could easily drift to the volleyball vol-leyball team, the drill team, or any number of other groups, but you quickly learn that who they are talking about is the girls' basketball team. The girls' basketball state tournament tour-nament is taking place all this week, and, although the students don't get excused for the playoff games, the team could really use our support. So far this season, the girls have done a great job, and we all owe them our congratulations. The best way to show the team that you care is to support them as they play. They will be meeting some of the best teams from around the state, and they need encouragement from the stands in order to do well. They have done a super job so far this year, and we hope to see them go far. Good luck! This week is also the culmination point for another group of students. stu-dents. The speech and debate students stu-dents will compete in the region forensics meet held at Davis High on Friday and Saturday. The debaters, deba-ters, speakers and interpreters have been preparing all year for a chance to match skills against competitors com-petitors from the rest of the region. It is expected that Bountiful will do very well, so we wish all these people peo-ple luck as they head north. Last night in the auditorium, a gala event was held. The combined choirs of Bountiful High performed in the annual Pops Concert, under the direction of Sheri Cole. All of the music performed was taken from Broadway Musicals, and the audience got a taste of New York City. If you didn't have a chance to witness this event, there is still some hope. The concert will be repeated re-peated tonight, March 2, once again in the BHS auditorium. Several Sev-eral solo selections will be different than last night's performance, so you can even come again if you enjoyed yourself last night. Now the moment I've been building to throughout this article! t . -J , - t . ? i W 1 .-i m t i f Millcreek Junior High School 7th grade officers are Sharon Goodrich, vice president; Jane Stout, secretary and Cory Brynon, president. If you haven't got a date yet, girls, it's not too late, just call up a guy and ask him to go! In conclusion I would like to make a quick note about next week. Next Wednesday and Thursday, the 9th and 10th of March, parent-teacher conferences confer-ences will be held. Please plan your calendar accordingly. Now may be the last chance you parents have to talk to your student's teachers before be-fore the end of this term. There is now nothing left to say, so to save your time and mine, I will leave you. |
