Show Taylor Elem. named 'outstanding5 By DO NET A GATHERUM CENTERVILLE J. A. Taylor Elementary has been selected as one of eight schools in the six-state region of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming as one of the outstanding out-standing elementary schools in the United States. This determination was made by representatives of the U.S. Department Depart-ment of Education in their elementary elemen-tary school recognition program. Nationally, 648 public and private pri-vate schools were nominated to the program. There were 360 who advanced adv-anced to the second round of competition com-petition which will include a two-day two-day state visit. Part of the selection process was the completion of a 41 1-page application appli-cation so the school could be considered consi-dered for judging. The site visit will take place in the latter part of April. The review panel in Washington, D.C., will announce winning schools in late May. Thomas G. Tancredo, secret- 1 ary's regional representative, congratulated con-gratulated the principal and faculty at Taylor for being selected as a finalist in this prestigious recognition recogni-tion nrocram. |
