Show West Booetiral conference visitor in West Bountiful at the home of the By ALICE MITCHELL People of the community are still trying to get their basements base-ments cleaned after the deluge of the pat weeks. Rugs hae been rolled up and taken to different dif-ferent places to be dried with vacuum cleaners. Sump pumps have been going day and night to lake the water out of basements. The worst problem prob-lem is having sewer water in basements, the citizens who have the latter problem are very discouraged. They don't see the end of their problems. Another problem has been the leaks which have sprung up in roofs. This causes drizzles on carpets, but from above. The two days of sunshine during the weekend were a welcome respite from the previous pre-vious days flooding. The light rains of Monday evening boded further troubles with surface and sub-surface waters wa-ters It is hoped that no more basements are built without careful investigation by accredited accre-dited engineers and that they are built twelve inches above the curb line. It seems that West Bountiful is not the place for basements, unless accredited accre-dited engineers make studies and advise that they may be built. It is hoped that things will soon dry up. so that late crops may mature. We extend sympathy to former for-mer citizen Elna Kilpack and her family in the death of her father.
