As an incentive for everyone every-one to keep exercising, a com- petitive program among "Home Room" teams has been devised with cash awards for the winners. j Woods Cross High School 'Physical Fitness Fair" will J le kicked off Monday, Oct. 1 8 jS pith an assembly featuring Henry Marsh, American lhampion 3000 meter stee-2 stee-2 plechaser, who has the best 9 lime in the world, so far, for Slhe 1982 season. Theme for the air is "Woods Cross has beautiful student bodies-let's 3425 teep them that way." THE following day students SiBSMwill be able to participate in a number of activities designed to increase physical fitness. Continuous swimming, track, ..jogging, mini-tramp jogging, jump rope, aerobic dance, brisk walking, and soccer will all be offered. Guest specialists have been invited to demonstrate and give tips on proper methods of exercise. The specialists will be Dan Maroney, Dennis De-Boer, De-Boer, Joane Sandberg, Kathy Scott, Pat Sawley, Glen Wells (second in the nation in speed walking), and Coach Ben Rodriguez, Rod-riguez, Westminster College. DURING the fair students, teachers and parents will be challenged to participate, for the next six months, in the Governor's Physical Fitness ' Awards program and win the Governor's "Golden Sneaker Award." This is an individual award program which involves . exercising each day in a designated desig-nated activity for a prescribed number of minutes (ranging from 20 to 45 minutes) to re-ceive re-ceive one point. People achieving 120 points, 150 |
