Show Teachers Feted Teachers in the Neola Primary Pri-mary were entertained at the home of Lecta Horrocks last Monday. An evening of games was enjoyed by the group, with prizes being won by Barbara Jensen and Eva Dye. Special recognition was given to two teachers, Laura and Eva Dye for their attendance records. Laura has 100 attendance at Primary; missed two prayer meetings; 100 stake preparation prepara-tion meetings for almost two years. Eva has a 100 record at stake preparation meeting for about the same period. Refreshments were served to Kate Peterson, LaVora Mitchell, Barbara Jensen, Lois Leavitt, Eva Dye, Rhae Peterson, Zola Spencer, Mary Winn, Laura Dye, Violet Mills, Lurrine Duncan, Dun-can, Phyllis Wardle. Co-hostesses were Rose Olsen, Irene Hen-rie Hen-rie and Lola Davis. Each was presented with a potted plant as a token of appreciation for their work in the organization. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gardner spent Memorial Day in Payson and Provo. ' Helping Clarene Duncan celebrate cele-brate her third birthday last week were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird, of Arcadia; Mrs. Joe Duncan, of Neola, and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Solmonson, of Roosevelt. Fifteen little friends also assisted her in disposing dis-posing of the ice cream cones, punch and cup cakes that formed form-ed the refreshments. " Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Duncan and son, Myron, spent an enjoyable en-joyable weekend when they attended at-tended the birthday party for Mrs. Mary Smith, of Union, mother of Mrs. Duncan. A dinner din-ner at the Doll House in Salt Lake, followed by a movie, was the order of events. Enroute home, the family attended the horse show at Springville. i Mrs. Sadie Blank and Mrs. Harvey Riggle were Salt Lake visitors last week. Memorial Day and the following follow-ing Sunday furnished a two-day holiday, which provided an occasion oc-casion for much visiting throughout the state. Coming to Neola were: Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zager and son, Clyde, of Murray, Mur-ray, who were guests at the Ferris Henrie home; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams and two children, of Park City, and Betty Bet-ty Elmer, of Ogden, were guests at the Elizabeth Prescott home; Mr. and Mrs. Dwane Peterson and children, of Thistle, visited at the W. K. Dye household. Mrs. Ada Hutcheon and Mrs. Erma Kirkham and daughter, Lucille, of Salt Lake City, vis- ited relatives and friends; Mr. Charles Hutcheon, of Clearfield, made his headquarters at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lor-in Lor-in Mills, as he greeted old friends; Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sho-ell Sho-ell and three children, of Orem, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leavitt. Guests' at the Theron Horrocks home included Mr. and Mrs. Max Horrocks and two daughters, Roger Horrocks, of Salt Lake City; Mrs. J. W. Gerber and grandson, of American Amer-ican Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horrocks and son, of Santaquin; Mrs. Blaine Lee and two children; chil-dren; Mrs. Ward Merkley and son, of Vernal; Mrs. Mirl Jennings Jen-nings and children, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gailey and family left on their vacation vaca-tion last week for Ja trip through California, Washington and Oregon. Attending Swarm Day at Roosevelt last Friday were Karen Kar-en Bastian, Faith Dye, Arvella Eksund, Elaine Duncan, Judy Bastian, Elaine Smithson, Helen Anderton, Pauline Anderton, Janice Powell and mothers Mel-ba Mel-ba Eksund, Melba Bastian and Marguerite Dye. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Ober-hansley Ober-hansley and their nephew, Gary Rhodes, have been visiting relatives rela-tives in Richmond, Calif, the past week. Visiting with their brother, ! John Horrocks last week, were Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Horrocks of Blackfoot, Idaho. They were on their way home from Michigan, Mich-igan, where they had purchased a new car. John Yack, of Price, spent the weekend here visiting relatives. |
