Show Assignments Made . . Roosevelt Organized To Aid Destitute Korean WarVictims With the American Legion of Roosevelt, Basin Post No. 64, taking the lead, Roosevelt was organized last Monday night to raise its share of a $13 million quota for the newly formed America-Korean Foundation. According to Rae Scholes, post commander, an invitation was extended each organization to join in the meeting and accept an assignment in the canvas of the city, and each responded and pledged support. Monday at 6:30 is set for. the campaign. Governor J. Bracken Lee recently re-cently issued a proclamation in which he urged the state of Utah to organize and get solidly behind the great humanitarian movement that is designed to aid a destitue nation that is undergoing the ravages of a savage war. Mr. Scholes was selected as general chairman, with Paul Murphy as secretary, and Cliff Memmott as publicity chairman. The group voted to conduct a house-to-house canvas on Monday, Mon-day, June 8, beginning a 6:30. Following are the assignments made by the committee, which give the areas each organization is to canvas: Auxiliary: North of Neola highway from bridge to hospital corner. Jr. Culture; From hospital corner to Jr. High Schol, north of Neola highway. Socialetle: South of Lagoon from State St. to Second East to Fourth South. B.P.W.: All south of Lagoon St. and west of State St. Kiwani-Anns: Flat west of Second West, south of Neola highway. Kiwanis: Pickup Addition into in-to Hancock Cove. Lions: East of highway south of Lagoon St. to George Pulos. Catholic Church: Plat E from Laris Motel to Airport corner. Second LDS Ward: Plat E (Mud Flat) from bridge east to Laris Motel, north and south of highway. First LDS Ward: From Neola highway to Lagoon St. from bridge, 5 blocks west. Legion: Outlying areas. |
