Show LEOTA By Jean Rogeis The Ouray ball team played Montwel here Saturday. The score was in our favor 15-1. Last week Fort Duchesne played here and won 2 to 6. Visitors at the Lewis Littleton home this week were Mr. and Mrs. Homidew, of New Mexico; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Ogden, of Fruita, Colo., and Thomas Littleton, Little-ton, stationed in San Diego, Calif in the Navy. Melba Durfee and some friends, of Bennett, went to Mer-1 kley's Park and the ball game at Altamont, Saturday. Ed Jensen had the misfortune to run a pick through his foot Friday while digging gilsonite at Bonanza. Olive Curfew, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Curlew, Cur-lew, of Vernal, visited with Bishop Ralph Durfee, Saturday. Merlin W. Sullivan, high councilman of Roosevelt, went with Bishop Austin Wardle and wife to Willow Creek, Sunday. ' The Wardles are presiding of-iicers of-iicers of the Willow Creek Branch. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing were Melva Jorgensen, Norman Nor-man Rogers and Bishop Ralph Durfee. The ward Relief Society officers offi-cers all went to Roosevelt Monday Mon-day for a stake social. Fred Barney is the father of a baby boy, born in Provo Tuesday. Tues-day. Mrs. Jean Rogers and family spent Thursday in Vernal, visiting visit-ing Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Harrison. Harri-son. Leonard Rogers was in Salt Lake City Friday doing genealogy geneal-ogy work. Ten ladies attended a quilting at Mrs. Ruth Searles and finished fin-ished a quilt for Alice Searle. Freda Davis, county agent, spent a. week helping ladies of Leota and Randlett each refinish a piece of furniture. Mr- and Mrs. Robert Marshall have moved to Jensen. Norma was released as a Primary counselor. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Jensen and Stan Jensen, of Salt Lake City, visited Saturday and Sunday Sun-day at the Ivan Rogers and Ed Jensen homes. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jensen and family and Lynn Jensen, of Salt Lake City, stayed over night Saturday at Calvin Jor-gensen's. Jor-gensen's. Those here for Memorial i Day were: Mr. and Mrs. Clel Miller, of Vernal; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Brough, of Whiterocks; Mr. and Mrs. George Brough. of Randlett; Rand-lett; Cliff Bryant and family, Marley Jones and daughter, Floyd Bryant, all of Lehi; Mel-vin Mel-vin Jones, of California; Erma Bryant, of Salt Lake City; and daughters, Flora of Talmage and Artie of Springvale. Lester Ellsworth, of Vernal, John Ellsworth, of Ogden; Marvin Mar-vin Perry, of Dragerton, and Alene Sweat, of Vernal, visited Matilda Ellsworth at the Roy Barney home this weekend. Eula Rogers, Marie and Cor-rine Cor-rine Ellsworth spent the week in Salt Lake City with Melva Jorgensen. Mr. and Mrs. E. Bert Stoddard attended a high council party Friday night. |
