Show Mia Maids Hold Rose Evening i The Rose was the theme carried car-ried out at the Lapoint ward's Rose evening held Tuesday, Jan. j uary 23, at the home of Myrna ! Taylor, under the direction of Febia Horrocks. class leader. A program featured the eve-' ning, with Vella Rasmussen j singing "A Rose;" reading by Cleo Wooley; piano solo, Myrna Taylor; jokes by Lielo Miller and a reading by Francis Lou Jenkins. Mothers of the girls each received re-ceived a rose, as did their leader. lead-er. Refreshments were served to the 9 mothers and 4 fathers present. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rich and daughter, of Nine Mile, and Pvt. Lawrence (Buck) Rich, home on a furlough, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dean Huber. Mr. and Mrs. DeLoss Searles, : of Willow Creek, and Mr. and Mrs. Preston Searles, of Leota, ' spent Sunday with their parents, 1 Mr. and Mrs. Rile Blackburn, who are ill. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Workman Work-man and girls, of Salt Lake ' City, were guests Wednesday of Mrs. Workman's parents, Mr. , and Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Sr. ! They attended funeral services I for Mr. Workman's mother, Mrs. I Esther Workman, held at Blue- !bell Thursday, I Frances Lou Jenkins spent .the weekend with Lorna Searles, I of Willow Creek. I Sheriff Herb . Snyder, of Ver-inal Ver-inal was in town Monday on J business. Bishop and Mrs. Lee Walker went to Salt Lake City. Monday. Their son, Leo, accompanied them. He will take a plane to San Francisco, after spending 10 days Navy leave with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen and Wilma Bingham went j to Logan to visit with their son I and daughter-in-law, Mr. and j Mrs. Donnal Rasmussen, and ! their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Morrell. Mrs. Bingham visited a daugh ter and sonrin-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Murray. Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Horrocks, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins, of Lapoint, attended funeral services ser-vices for Mrs. Esther Workman, Thursday in Bluebell. Boyd Winn, of Salt Lake City is visiting his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Winn. ' Mr. and Mrs. George Allrecf visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hall ' Sunday at Bennett. I Lapoint stake missionaries ; held a cottage meeting at the I home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cuch Wednesday evening, Jan. 24, with Hattie Foster conducting. conduct-ing. Ed Simmons, Indian missionary, mis-sionary, was present, and nine other guests. The Juniors, Scouts and Mia Maids held . a Fireside Chat at the home of Keith Walker after Sato-ament meeting, Jan. 24. Wendel Johnson, seminary teacher at Roosevelt, gave a fine talk and refreshments were seived to a large crowd. Mr. Johnson was accompanied by Mr. Larsen, of Victory Park. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Kump visited Mr. and Mrs. Bert Angus, An-gus, of R6osevelt, Sunday. |
