Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter Day Saints, will convene in Roosevelt Saturday evening and Sunday for their first 1951 quarterly conference, is an announcement an-nouncement made by Hollis G. Hullinger, president. According to Pres. Hullinger, the first presidency of the church has not made an assignment assign-ment of one of the general authorities au-thorities to preside over the conference, so the local leadership leader-ship will be on their own. How- ever, a suggested program to follow has been sent out from Salt Lake City and meetings will be conducted in accordance with this schedule. All speakers will be chosen from among ward and stake leaders who, in the past, have not had a chance to be heard at a stake conference. confer-ence. Vernon Larson, second counselor in the presidency, presi-dency, will be in charge of the priesthood leadership meeting Saturday evening, which is scheduled for the Roosevelt chapel at 7:30. He will arrange -the program and conduct the m,eeting. There will not be a stake welfare meeting Saturday night. According to President Lar,-son, Lar,-son, all Melchizedek and Aaron-ic Aaron-ic priesthood leaders should be in-attendance at the Saturday evening sessions. The M.I.A. program at 7:30 is under the direction of Mrs. R. Vernon Larson and Bob Andrews, An-drews, stake presidents of the Y.W.M.I.A. and Y.M.M.I.A. A special feature of the afternoon after-noon session will be the presentation presen-tation and sustainance of general and stake officers, under the direction di-rection of John Swenson, stake clerk. Also featuring the afternoon after-noon meeting- will be reports from at least two returned missionaries, mis-sionaries, Eugene Keene, of the Mofatt ward, and Rollo Elder, of Myton. President Hullinger advised that all conference sessions will begin on time and encourages all to be present at the designated desig-nated hour. |
