Show floral Telephones For The Basin Get Shot-ln-Arm Telephones for rural Duchesne Du-chesne and Uintah counties was given more encouragement last , Friday by officials of the REA I in Salt Lake City, than any previous pre-vious commitment or hope received re-ceived by the local committee, which has been laboring long and hard getting applicant's names on papers that must accompany ac-company an application for a loan. According to Floyd Ross, I committee chairman fram My-I My-I ton, fourteen men from the Ba- sin made a special trip to Salt Lake on Jan. 26 to discuss the1 project with the two REA men I who were in Utah to view other projects that might become a reality. When advised they had 700 paid applications at $10 each, the committee was just about promised that if haste were made in getting the other 100 applications, they would almost guarantee the project , would receive the REA's blessing-. They also were told that plenty of material is available a situation that might change any day. The group also met with officials of-ficials of the Mt. States Tel. and Tel. Co., who were gracious and promised to support them in their endeavors. If the project materializes, the cooperation of Mt. States is very important to the rural project. Mr. Ross and the committee are hopeful that at least 100 more Basin residents will re-spond re-spond to the $10 request so that the- application can go in immediately. im-mediately. The more people who I sign up, the cheaper the job will be for all concerned, he stated. |
