Show Duchesne Program Set For May 23; Tabiona On May 24; Altamont Is May 25; Union May 26 Union High Plans have been completed for the fourth annual commencement exercises of Union High School which are scheduled for next Thursday Thurs-day night, May 26, at the gymnasium.. gym-nasium.. According to Loman F. Hutchings, principal, ninety-nine seniors will march across the stand and receive their diplomas from. W. Russel Todd, chairman of Union High board. Seven graduating honor students are being featured on the program some will give the prayers, some are listed for musical numbers and the others are slated to deliver addresses. The entire class will sing three numbers with three students as accompanists. Seldon Heaps To Feature A special feature of the program will be the appearance of Seldon Heaps, prominent Utah musician and artist on the organ. He will play the prelude, postlude and processional music. He will be playing on a Hammond Electric organ which is being brought to Roosevelt by the Glen Bros. Music Co., for this special purpose. Honor students who lead the graduating list are William J. Haslem, Ina Rae Ellingford, Carolyn Caro-lyn Ross, Kenneth Anderton. Patricia Gines, Earlene Warburton, and Marta Morrill. Tabiona Perhaps the only all-girl senior class in the country will be graduated grad-uated at the annual commencement commence-ment exercises of Tabiona High School on Tuesday, May 24, when seven girls walk the graduation plank. Eleven fine young high school girls registered as Juniors at Tabby High in the fall of 1953, but in the interlude between then and now, the list x has shrunk to seven. According to Doyle Swallow, principal, the commencement program pro-gram will begin at 8 p.m. in the high school gym, with the band playing the processional, under the direction of Blaine W. Hess. Following Fol-lowing the welcome address by Class President LaMay Roberts, and a clarinet quartet, the seven graduates will present the theme "Our Place in the Sun." They will also sing, "You'll Never Walk Alone," and Grant Peel will sing "Perfect Day." To Award Diplomas Diplomas will be awarded to the graduates by B. A. Jacoby, vice-president vice-president of the board, with Mr. Swallow presenting the graduates. The program calls for breif remarks re-marks from Supt. Rowan C. Stutz. A graduation dance will follow the program. The graduates are: Linda C. Giles, Sharon LaRae Hamilton, Marilyn LeFevere, Jane LaMay Roberts, Carma Mae Sizemore, Pleasy Ellen Lewis and Renae Thomas. Three others of the eleven elev-en who started together as juniors will be graduating from other schools, and one chose the path of matrimony. Duchesne Eighteen seniors will be awarded diplomas at the annual commencement commence-ment of Duchesne High School to be held next Monday night, May 23, with W. R. Harris, past president presi-dent of the school board, presenting present-ing the certificates. According to Principal Walter T. Williams, all members of the class will appear on the program. A complete story of the graduation grad-uation program and those participating par-ticipating was printed last week in the Uintah Basin Record, and no changes have been reported by Mr. Williams. A complete list of those graduating graduat-ing is as follows: David Weston Bates, Lina Louise Blaine, Lou Ann Cole, Stephen Blake Esauk, Lucy Marie Fausett, James Devon Grant, Judith Halladay, Dorothy Iona Hayes, Jessup Otto Johnsen, Keith Frank Lewis, Louise Liddell, James Linden Lott, Resa Marie Moore, Dian Odekirk, Laura Mae Oldsen, Kara Lyn Smith, Amanda Swasey and Roger Dean Young. Co-Valedictorians are Kara Lyn Smith and Louise Liddell. "One Goal Reached, But Many Beyond," theme of the graduation program, will be used as a basis for Miss Smith's address. Miss Liddell will use the senior class motto, "Find a Way or Make One," for the text of her talk. Altamont Wednesday, May 25, has been set as the date for the 1955 commencement com-mencement exercises for the Altamont Alta-mont High School, which will be held in the new gymnasium. According Ac-cording to Rondo H. Harmon, principal, the program is arranged with members of the senior class presenting most of the numbers. Exercises will begin at 8 p.m. Chosen as valedictorion for the class is Miss Etholene Burton, with Miss Carolyn Tew slated to present pre-sent the salutatorian address. The high school band will play the processional pro-cessional and the Explorers wilT lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Following the invocation by Dee Farnsworth and the welcome address add-ress by Colleen Roberts, the remainder re-mainder of the program will be as follows: saxophone instrumental; class prophesy, Charlene Swasey; vocal solo, Kenneth Bearden, class advisor; school and farewell songs, by the senior class, and benediction benedic-tion by Lela Beckstead.. Edwin L. Murphy, veteran member mem-ber of the Duchesne school board, and resident of Upalco, will present pre-sent the diplomas after the members mem-bers have been presented by Principal Prin-cipal Harmon.
