Wilkerson up at White-rocks White-rocks has the stakes in and has arranged for a scraper to use on his farm tractor. He will level about 6 acres. Hugh Murray, Mur-ray, who is farming the Bruce Fitzgerald place south of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, is staking 6 acres which he plans to level this week with his farm tractor and carryall. s C s The Ashley Upper Canal Co. recently completed a concrete drop structure in their canal above Sid Markley's place. The structure was installed by Red Stewart from Jensen. Take a look at it when you are up that way. It's a nice job. s C s A drainage study has been completed on A. Theo. Johnson's farm south of Vernal. Rex Strei-gel Strei-gel is installing the 1200 feet of 6 in. tile this week. John Swen-son, Swen-son, soil scientist with the Soil Conservation Service, is supervising super-vising the job. s C s Test wells on Leon Glen's, Warren Billing's, Earl Brim-hall's Brim-hall's and Alvin Timothy's farms southwest of Jensen were installed in-stalled this spring. A daily recording re-cording of the water level will be made for the next 6 weeks to get information for drainage recommendations. s C s Howard M. Ivory visited the Ballard school last week and showed some films on soil conservation. con-servation. s C s Work is going ahead again on the Cottonwood Wash drip and diversion structure being installed in-stalled by the Dry Gulch Irrigation Irriga-tion Co. Bill Crozier is supervising supervis-ing the completion of this job. s C s Soil Conservation Service personnel per-sonnel were called into Salt Lake City this week for a special spe-cial meeting. Those who went in were Howard Ivory, Don B. Nielson, Grant Chugg, Roosevelt; Grant Parrish, Vernal; and John Strang, Duchesne. |
