Gough, national commander of the American Legion, has made a plea to each post to get behind the Legion's "Back to God" movement, which emphasizes regular public worship, wor-ship, and the religious instruction instruc-tion of youth as important aids in fulfilling our duty to God and country. ' After only three weeks of operation, op-eration, the 'Teen-Age Canteen, sponsored by Post No. 64, is very successful. Last Saturday night Lee and Leah Allred, Bill and Shirley Murdock, and Rae Scholes acted as hosts for over 100 teen-agers. Rae, who is chairman of the Canteen committee, com-mittee, has announced that children chil-dren who are not yet in their teens will be allowed to attend the Canteen. At the last Post meeting held on Thursday, Feb. 5, Lee Kay, of the State Fish and Game Department, De-partment, was the guest speaker, with a fine talk on Conservation of our Natural Resources, after which he showed a film on the scenic wonders of the state. Art Rasmussen was the lucky winner of the $10.00 post drawing. draw-ing. At the .next meeting the drawing will start again with $2.00 in the pot. Bill Murdock, commander of Basin Post No. 64, has announced announ-ced that the post is over the top on membership, with 107 of the quota, but asks that each member keep working to try to get an all-time high. |
