Show Lake Fork Snow Depth 24.5 in. Ss Bellow Norma! ALTONAH On Wednesday, January 28, Gregory Pearson and Gilbsrt Horrocks, of the Soil Conservation Service, and Ranger Jesse Palm, of the Forest For-est Service measured the snow depth on Lake Fork Mountain. The average snow depth was 24.5 inches with a water content equal to 5 8 inches. On Feb. 1, on the Lake Fork Mountain course was 49.6 with a water content of 14.2 inches. For Feb., 1951 the snow depth was 27.8 inches with a water content of 6.7 inches. The snow survey is conducted through a cooperative agreement between the Forest Service and the Soil Conservation Service. The data obtained from the snow course measurements enables en-ables the forecaster to predict the amount of water to be released re-leased by the mountain watersheds.
